Grosse Pointe Sail Club Wins Big at 2004 Mackinac Race

 

Seven out of Eleven GPSC Racers on the Podium

 

 

The Grosse Pointe Sail Club displayed their excellent sailing prowess during the 2004 Port Huron to Mackinac Race by winning nine (9) victory flags.  Eleven sailboats sailed under the GPSC burgee, with Avatar, Freeway, Power Tripp and Wind Toy IV each taking first place honors in their classes.  In addition, Avatar, skippered by Andrew and Gordon Morlan, and Wind Toy IV, skippered by Robert Bunn, both placed 2^nd overall in their respective divisions (Shore Course and Cruising Class).  Screaming O and Solutions both finished 2^nd and Spectre finished 3^rd in their respective classes.  Thanks to Shamrock, Gandalf, Perversion, and Eliminator for persevering in some difficult light air conditions.  Congratulations to all the skippers and crews on this outstanding achievement.  You have made our club very proud.
